This is a backup (very out of date at that) of my fannish El jay. I still do all my posting and reading over there and use this journal primarily for commenting on other folks journals. And, you know, Trek Novel Fest.

Hey [personal profile] ljc, welcome to Dreamwidth! I'm here via the Latest things page to lure you to the Dark Side. If you don't have a personal journal here already, drop me a line and I'll send you an invite code. We would be richer for having you be active here. So before you decide to stay off the grid, so to speak, take a look around. You might enjoy stopping by [personal profile] synecdochic's weekly Monday Pride Thread. It's a place to post about your accomplishments from the past week and to cheer other people on. You can find Monday's post here.

There's also a 'Follow Friday' feed for, you guessed it, Fridays. It's a great place to go looking for comms and people you might want to watch. What else? [personal profile] kate has put together an excellent general Dreamwidth starter kit. And there's always the official Guide to Dreamwidth for Livejournal Users.

Hope that's enough to give you a taste of what's out there. Moving to a new place can be a lot of work (I know; I just moved into a new apartment), but I think you'd find making another home here worth your while. Dreamwidth is much more than an LJ backup or an LJ alternative; it's a community of communities. So at least try to crossposting feature! and maybe go take a look at [community profile] addme_fandom.

Best,
J.J.
